If we wish to succeed in keeping bees, we must let them teach us.
— Rev. L.L. Langstroth > Langstroth on the Hive and the Honey-Bee (1853)

Beekeeping is an art as much as it is a science, and nothing replaces the steady hand of an experienced beekeeper at your side. Our Mentor Connection page will soon feature a registry of seasoned local keepers dedicated to fostering the next generation of environmental stewards on the Eastern Shore.

What is a Mentor? A mentor is a guide who offers technical expertise, seasonal foresight, and a steadying perspective when challenges arise in the apiary.

The Mentee’s Role: A successful mentee is an active learner—someone ready to observe, ask the "why" behind the "how," and put in the work required to keep a colony thriving.
